- don't compare yourself to others. it's really hard for me not to compare myself to others. i guess i just never see who i am as being good enough, but really it is. so if you feel like you're not enough when you look at the people around you, remember that you can't ever compare yourself to anyone else. everyone is their own person, with their own problems, and their own great qualities. there is no way to compare your life with anyone else, so don't. just be you!
- it is pointless to try to know where the way leads. think only about your first step. the rest will come. starting college was intimidating; i mean basically right off the bat you start working for whatever career you want in the future. this can be scary, but really you only have to think about your first step. then once you've taken that step, you can take the next step. so don't try to figure out where you'll be in the next four years; figure out what you're going to do today, and step by step you'll get to where you want to be.
- stop and just live. i have a tendency to be very focused and driven, which obviously isn't a bad thing. however, it makes me overwork myself and makes it really hard for me to just stop; because really, work never ends. i've had to learn to just stop sometimes and live. if you're feeling overwhelmed, simply stop and realize that the whole point of life is to do just that-live.
with living on my own for the first time and starting college to just figuring out where i'm headed with my life, i've found myself getting a lot of good advice these past few months. sometimes when you're in a difficult place, all you need are some words of wisdom to get you where you want to be. i definitely listened to all sorts of advice to get me to where i am today, and so i wanted to share some of that advice with you guys. i hope this post helps you out if you're in the need of some good advice, and if you're not, you can look back to it later when you do.
