there always seems to be a new color that suddenly takes over the product market and becomes all the rave. rose gold is that color right now, and from the looks of it it's going to be around for a while. it's showing up in kitchens, tech, jewelry, shoes, and everywhere in between. i mean, who could blame them though? this rosy metallic color really catches the eye. here are some of my favorite rose gold items.
in the past year or two i've discovered a new found love for photography. i think it all started when i got my first iphone; suddenly i had a decent camera right at my finger tips. it's been a couple years since then and my interest has grown. recently i found a gold mine of old family polaroid pictures. this ignited a spark that set me looking to try out polaroid photography myself. i found the same polaroid camera my family used years ago and decided to give this whole polaroid thing a go. i'll be sharing a series of posts that logs my polaroid experience, so... first things first. i'm going to be using this camera (pictured below). it was a company camera given to my mom for work and we still have it. i was happy to use it instead of spending hundreds of dollars on a new one! (crossing my fingers that it still works...) also, my first batch of photos will be on this film (pictured above). i went straight for the cool film instead of starting out with the basic white squares. here are a few other cameras and film options i think are cool so you can start your own polaroid journey! xo shawndiz
who doesn't like strawberries? i can't think of a single person. strawberries are great because of their dual sweet and sour taste. when strawberries are paired with something else sweet, like chocolate, they become irresistible. so today i paired strawberries with cream and ice cream in the ultimate sweet strawberry treat.
with t minus one month until i move to san diego for college, i've gone into dorm supplies buying mode. the funnest part for me is getting to design a new space for yourself that you know you will love, even if you have to share that space with two other people. even though i want to go all out and just splurge on a bunch of cute and design worthy decorations, i have to start with the basics. in this department i had some help from my awesome sister, who conveniently happens to be an architect who is also well versed in interior design. starting with the basics helps you determine the mood that you want to create for your space. once you determine these fundamental pieces you can decide what to include next to complete the look. this post will be the first in a series of posts that will log my dorm decorating journey, with the last post showing the finished product!
i'm shawndiz, a college student in desperate need of a creative outlet. i love all things design worthy and revel in creating and sharing what i find beautiful and interesting in the world. above all i believe that being a busy college student doesn't mean you should sacrifice style.
