1. Riding Boots
You will never catch me in the fall or winter without riding boots. The equestrian-inspired accessory is the perfect shoe for colder weather that not only keep your feet warm, but go with literally everything. I especially love wearing my boots with dresses and tights for a more feminine, preppy look. A lot of people adore the riding boots by Tory Burch and Michael Kors (I mean, who wouldn't? They're absolutely gorgeous). But if you're a frugal shopper like me, you might not be so keen on spending over $150 on one pair of boots. I, personally, have three pairs of boots by the brand Bandolino which I purchased from DSW. I have them in black, cognac brown, and two-tone. All my pairs were $99 each (but I had coupons each time), lasted me all season, and are really great quality for the price.
2. Quilted Vest
I discovered quilted vests last year and just fell absolutely in love with them. They are so simple and can make any outfit. They are also surprisingly warm and are the perfect accessory during the cooler seasons. They seem to be really popular among J. Crew lovers. I found mine at my local Burlington Coat factory for less than $30!! It's also navy and is faux fur lined and kept me warm all season last year, so I can't wait to break it out again!
3. Flannel
Did anybody else have flannel fridays when they were in high school like I did? Who doesn't love a cozy plaid shirt? They make the perfect go-to top for autumn and come in so many great color combos that are brought out by the changing leaves. L.L. Bean has got a great variety of flannels, but I tend to find some great ones at Target as well.
4. Dark-Wash Skinny Jeans
All praise the skinny jeans! Skinny jeans are my favorite pants to wear during the fall and wintry months because they go with absolutely EVERYTHING. I especially love dark wash and black skinnies because they can be dressed up or down. I can see it now - a button-down shirt, with a Ralph Lauren knit sweater on top, a statement necklace underneath the collar, all worn over a pair of black skinnies and some riding boots. Are you falling in love yet?? (Pun definitely intended). I personally get all my skinnies from Forever 21 because they come in surprisingly great quality at a decent price!
5. Darker Lipsticks
If you know me, pinky mauves and toned-down lippies just don't do it for me. I've always been a bold lip kinda girl ever since I first discovered make-up. With the colder months on their way, it's time to break out those deep berries and ravishing wine colors. My favorite everyday lip color to wear is the Revlon Kissable Balm Stain in Crush, but my favorite holiday/special occasion lipstick is Revlon's Black Cherry, usually over a deep red lip liner. I am so ready for vampy lip colors - let's be bold!
6. Pumpkin Spice EVERYTHING
Ok, I know how basic this may make me seem, but I couldn't care any less! I can't wait to schedule a pumpkin-picking day with my friends and I am smiling just thinking about all the pumpkin flavored goodies that will be making their amazing return! Pumpkin pie...Starbucks pumpkin spice lattes...Pumpkin bread?! (Also, with colder weather usually comes some extra pounds from all the delicious foods...hehe).
What are you most excited for this coming fall? :)
