hi! hopefully everything has been going well for you guys. it's crazy how the school year is coming to an end so quickly. although i still have over a month of school left to go, i know a lot of people that got out yesterday or are getting out in the next week or so. so if you're one of those people, congrats on finishing the school year. and as for the rest of you (like me) that still have a way to go, you can make it!
so today i wanted to do a little post about turning eighteen, because as it is, tomorrow i'm turning eighteen! people usually see eighteenth birthdays as one of the milestone birthdays, understandably. i just wanted to talk a little about how i feel about it today, so here i go!

i honestly don't think turning eighteen really changes anything much, at least for me. i guess there's little things that are different, like being able to sign things for yourself and what not, but i don't think you suddenly become a self-sufficient adult. if anything, it just gives you more of a feeling of responsibility and maturity. i am excited to not be technically a "child" anymore. i've always been a year younger than everyone in my grade; everyone i know in college is at least eighteen, so i've always felt the fact that i'm the youngest. but tomorrow i'll be eighteen, and though that doesn't change much, it'll be nice at least knowing that i'm not a "kid" anymore in people's eyes. i know everyones experience are different, but i just wanted to share my take on it. :) xo shawndiz
