hi!!! it's been so long since i've posted to the blog! i'm super excited to be back though; it's been too long. as you may know, my prolonged absence was due to the fact that i was in europe basically from the time of my last blog post until now... aka a looonngg time. it was super fun though and now that i'm back i'm excited to share it all on here. so get ready for a streak of travel posts, because i got a lot to share. you may just be sick of europe by the time it's all over, if that's possible. ;)
today i'm starting out with the beautiful city of prague in the czech republic. i flew into berlin and took a beautiful (but long) train ride to prague. so just a quick side note, if you happen to be in berlin and want to go to prague, i highly recommend taking the train. it's true that it will take longer than say if you were flying, but the views on the way are amazing. almost as amazing as the beautiful sights of prague...

honestly, prague is an amazing city just to walk around and get lost in. any street you go down you're bound to find something beautiful. i would start in the old town square, this is where all the main tourist attractions are, and then wander off from there. you won't be disappointed.
one thing you absolutely MUST do as you wander the city is to buy a trdelnik (or two). these amazing creations are cinnamon cylinders of pure joy. personally i prefer mine filled with ice-cream and fresh strawberries. :) i need to find a place in SoCal that makes these, because they're that good.
at some point make your way to the water. it shouldn't be hard; the bridges in prague are one of the main attractions. walk along the water, preferably at sunset, and take in the amazing views.
more wandering in pretty streets...
take a steep walk up to the strahov monastery. in the summer it's a long and hot walk up, but the views make it all worth it.
stumbled upon this random pretty park in mala strana, one of the oldest parts of the city.
by far the most famous bridge in prague is the charles bridge. it's lined with medieval statues and has a gorgeous view of the vltava river. it was pretty crowded, but it's a must when you're in prague.
all in all prague was a beautiful city and i would recommend it to anyone to visit. my time there was short but sweet, but i definitely think i made the most of it and enjoyed as much of the city as i could. xo shawndiz
