christmas is next week! ahhhhh! one of my favorite parts of the holiday season is finding everyone i love the perfect gift. it gives me such a great feeling when they open their gift and their face lights up. however for me, equally as important as the treat inside is how it's wrapped. presentation is everything, and every year i love taking my time wrapping each gift perfectly. that's why today i'm sharing a little gift wrapping diy with you guys! if you're the type of person that wants to take your gift wrapping a step above store bought wrapping paper, then use this diy to impress everyone on your list!
what you need:
- assorted paint
- white wrapping paper
- paint brushes
- decor (washi tape, ribbon, etc.)
- cut your plain white wrapping paper to the sizes you need to wrap your gifts. this way you won't waste time painting paper you don't use.
- pour out some paint onto a plate and mix together the colors you want. mixing the colors you want first helps you figure out your color palette.
- pan out your first sheet of paper. i found placing things in the corners to hold it secure was useful. you don't want your paper rolling up while you're painting and ruining your work!
- take your time and paint each design. make sure you clean and dry your paintbrush thoroughly between colors.
- let them dry for a few minutes or until they are dry to the touch.
- now you can use them to gift wrap! use them as you would regular wrapping paper, then decorate your pretty packages with washi tape and ribbon or whatever else your heart desires!
- now all you have left to do is spread the christmas cheer with your gorgeously wrapped gifts!
