before finals week hit us all, my roomie and i wanted to make sure to fit in as much festive fun as possible. among lots of other things we wanted to do was throw a small christmas party at our apartment for our apartmentmates and a few close friends. we really wanted to make this happen, and i'm so glad we did.
we wanted to go all out with the decor to make the atmosphere as homey as possible, which is kinda hard to do when living in on campus housing. the apartments are really bland and it's pretty hard to really change that, but we tried and i think were somewhat successful. :)
we made our own little christmas drink menue and it was super fun learning how to make drinks together.
we had small little bites to snack on and drinks, and somewhere during the party we also made cupcakes and made frozen pizza. it was super casual, but it was really nice to just spend time together with friends for the holidays before the hell of finals week began.
i don't even know what's going on in this picture, but i kinda love it.
after talking and eating we were going to watch christmas movies, but somehow we ended up watching twilight instead. i don't really know how that happened, but i had a great time.
i would totally recommend throwing a holiday party, even if it's small and it's in a not so stylish apartment (like mine lol). there's always a way to make it work! we had a lot of fun planning, getting all the decor, and obviously the party itself was amazing. so grab some friends and throw your own little party, whether it's for christmas or any other time of the year. i promise you'll have fun! xo shawndiz
