hi! i hope you guys all had a great weekend, or maybe you have today off like me and are still enjoying your extra long weekend! either way i hope it went well for you, especially since this weekend was valentine's day! it was beautiful here in san diego; outside it was sunny and just the right temperature. i don't know about you guys, but when the weather is just perfect, like it was this weekend, it really makes me want to get outside and do something. so on valentines day, that's exactly what i did. one of my suite mates, lila, and i decided to be each others valentine and went out for the day. it was super fun of course, but we also had our fair share of adventure.

with living on my own for the first time and starting college to just figuring out where i'm headed with my life, i've found myself getting a lot of good advice these past few months. sometimes when you're in a difficult place, all you need are some words of wisdom to get you where you want to be. i definitely listened to all sorts of advice to get me to where i am today, and so i wanted to share some of that advice with you guys. i hope this post helps you out if you're in the need of some good advice, and if you're not, you can look back to it later when you do.
hello! i hope you all have been having a great start to your new year. i was nominated by the very lovely jasmine from the sixth disney princess for the liebster award! if you don't know what the liebster award is it's basically a way to share your favorite bloggers to your readers so they can discover new ones to follow. also, it's super fun getting to know more about your favorite bloggers!
the catcher in the rye was the last book i read over the summer (earlier in the summer i read 1984 and jane eyre). while some students loath about reading serious books from the literary canon i actually really enjoy it... kind of. i don't like it when i have to finish reading a specific amount of chapters by a specific day and have to be prepared for a quiz on it. *cringes* what i do like is going through a book at my own pace, and figuring out all its layers of meaning on my own.
it's labor day weekend! although this makes no difference to me whatsoever (i'm still on summer vacation!) it marks an important shift. although i'm sure it will continue feeling like summer until early november here in southern california, in many other places labor day marks the end of summer; so enjoy your long weekend and these last sweet days of summer. here are some links to things i've been loving from around the web...
