it's blogmas day 3! today i want to share some pics from an impromptu day trip i went on with my roomie the day after finals. we had something completley different planned for the day, but those plans changed and we decided to do this instead. although completley spontaneous, i'm glad we did it. it was super festive being in a small town, drinking fresh cider and eating warm pie. the best part was that it was actually cold, which isn't really a thing in san diego. all in all, it was a day well spent after a week of test taking.

welcome to blogmas day 2! today i want to share another one of my photography projects. i have to say this one was my favorite projects out of all the ones i did this past quarter. i think i really liked it because it was more of just a random photo shoot, which is what i like to do, instead of a few images that i had to have planned out and then shot. i also loved it because i got to do it with one of my best friends, keeley. i feel like photo shoots are always way more fun when they're with friends. anyways, for this project i had to choose one model and photograph them in different lighting scenarios. some of the instructions were super specific (like they literally told you what kind of light and from what angle to have it), while some allowed for a lot of freedom, which i really liked. here's how they turned out!
christmas is this week! i'm soo excited. i hope the holiday season has been going well for you guys and you're enjoying the time off of school or work. and for those of you who haven't quite crossed the finish line yet with finals, just power through! you're almost there!
i persoanlly like getting super festive the last week of the christmas season, which starts today. i want to try out doing blogmas this year on the blog for the countdown to christmas starting today! i want to do it as my little christmas gift to you guys, and so i'm going to (hopefully) have a new blog post up every day this week! and yes, including christmas day! this is already a crazy busy week for me, and i might be insane for thinking i'll be able to put up a post a day, but you know what, i'm going to try my best to make it happen. enjoy! before finals week hit us all, my roomie and i wanted to make sure to fit in as much festive fun as possible. among lots of other things we wanted to do was throw a small christmas party at our apartment for our apartmentmates and a few close friends. we really wanted to make this happen, and i'm so glad we did.
hello! i have once again emerged from the dead with another blog post. fall quarter is officially over, and i'm super pumped to be able to work on the blog more. as you may or may not know, i decided to minor in photography last year; it wasn't until this quarter though that i took an actual photography class. it was kind of weird becuase i've been seriously pursuing photography for two years now and all of a sudden everything that i had kind of informaly learned was being tought in a weird structured way. needless to say, it took some getting used to. i have to say, overall i wasn't a huge fan of the class. i personally felt like it constrained me, although on the technical side of things i did learn a lot so i guess it was all worth it.
anyways, i thought it would be cool to share my photography projects from this class on the blog. i'm starting with my final project, so i'm not really going in order, but i'll probably end up sharing all of them eventually. for this project i strayed quite a bit away from what i usually enjoy/focus on in photography. i usually really like capturing color and light in scenes that create aesthetically pleasing images. i don't usually have a deeper concept or idea behind them. for this project, however, i did the exact opposite. i'm not sure how well it turned out, but to be honest i'm just proud of myself for trying something that i normally would never have done in my usual work. the concept behind this typology is how people in this decade interact with technology. it has become so easy for each of us to become our own photographer of ourselves and the world around us. we all have phones in our hands that take quality images, and we've all kind of inderectly learned some of the basics of photography accidently as we take numerous shots to find the perfect one. so, this serious tries to focus on that and highlights its existence in our world today. |
